‘Mission: Impossible 5′ Director Christopher McQuarrie Confirms Production is Done

The fifth Tom Cruise headlined Mission: Impossible movie – a project that reunited Cruise with his Jack Reacher director Christopher McQuarrie – is racing to the finish line faster than originally expected, following its release date having been bumped up by five months. Fortunately, the project has now wrapped its production and begun the proper editing process, with the first trailer due to be released sooner than later.
Mission: Impossible 5, which McQuarrie recently indicated might not be the official title, reunites Cruise with his Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol costar Jeremy Renner, as well as the series’ veterans Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg. Newcomers this round include Rebecca Ferguson (The White Queen) playing an ally for Ethan Hunt (Cruise) and his IMF team; Sean Harris (Prometheus) as the film’s main antagonist; and Alec Baldwin, as one of Ethan’s bosses (following in the footsteps of such actors as Anthony Hopkins and Tom Wilkinson from previous installments).
