‘Supergirl’ Trailer The Woman Of Steel Has Arrived

‘Supergirl’ Trailer The Woman Of Steel Has Arrived

When The CW’s success with DC Comics triggered a rush of other comic properties being adapted to the small screen, few were as much of a surprise as Supergirl. Not only was the heroine’s connection to the Man of Steel seen as problematic, but finding its home at CBS – a network not known for hour-long dramas targeting The Flash or Arrow crowd – made the show’s tone, angle, and overall identity more than a mystery.

With the pilot episode now completed, CBS has made the full season order official, confirming that Supergirl is on her way, regardless of the details. The trailer impressed those present at its media upfronts debut, and now fans can have their first look at the show as well.

Since the first reports arrived of a Supergirl TV series being led by Greg Berlanti, executive producer of both Arrow and Flash, all involved have seemed to be turning a blind eye to the skeptics (not entirely unfounded skepticism, since the idea of doing a Super-character justice on a TV budget is a tall order). But rather than worry about whether a Supergirl TV show was possible, the producers set out to see for themselves.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe’S Movie Villain Problem

The Marvel Cinematic Universe’S Movie Villain Problem

The Avengers: Age of Ultron‘s bank-busting run in theaters only further proves that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become one of the top juggernaut’s in entertainment business, on both movie and TV screens. But even as films like The Avengers, Guardians of The Galaxy and Captain America: The Winter Soldier have thrilled audiences with superhero adventure, there’s been one point of general criticism that hasn’t gone away: villains in the MCU tend to be underwhelming.

Now Avengers 2 is finding itself hit with similar criticisms, despite having a fan-favorite foe (Ultron) played by a unique, fan-favorite actor (James Spader). So why is Marvel Studios having such a hard time putting great baddies on the big screen? We breakdown the situation, as well as what Marvel could do in order to correct it.

Here is the list of MCU villains in order of their first appearance onscreen. NOTE: While “big bads” are the main focus of this discussion, we’ve included a lot of the “little bads” as well.

Ten Rings – Obidiah Stane / Iron Monger (Iron Man)
Gen. “Thunderbolt” Ross  – Abomination (Incredible Hulk)
Justin Hammer  – Whiplash (Iron Man 2)
Loki  – Frost Giants  – Destroyer (Thor)
Red Skull – Arnim Zola – Old Hydra (Captain America: TFA)
Chitauri – The Other – Thanos (The Avengers)
Aldrich Killian / “The Mandarin”  – Extremis Soldiers – A.I.M.  (Iron Man 3)
Malekith – Kurse – Dark Elves (Thor: TDW)
Winter Soldier – Alexander Pierce – New Hydra (Captain America: TWS)
Ronan The Accuser – Nebula (Guardians of the Galaxy)
Baron von Stucker – Ultron – Ultron Legion (Avengers: AoU)

THE WITCHER 3: THE WILD HUNT REVIEW (WITCHING HOURS)

THE WITCHER 3: THE WILD HUNT REVIEW (WITCHING HOURS)

Unlike its predecessor, The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt doesn't exactly come screaming off the starting line. Compared to The Witcher 2, where you're immediately plunged headlong into a sexy story of intrigue and betrayal, this main quest can seem mundane, even perfunctory at times. But each time I stepped off the well-beaten path to blaze my own trail, it turned into a wild, open, exhilarating fantasy roleplaying experience, rife with opportunities to make use of its excellent combat. Even after over 100 hours with The Witcher 3, it still tempts me to press on – there’s so much more I want to learn, and hunt.

The Witcher 3 is as dense and deep as the other two games in the series in terms of RPG mechanics, and the overwhelmingly massive open-world environment has at once made that depth more intimidating, and in the long run, more rewarding. It’s difficult to express just how huge and open this world is: verdant, rolling fields liberally dotted with swaying foliage of every shape and size fill the space between loosely connected, ramshackle townships where people struggle to scrape by. A full day/night cycle and dynamic weather pull it all together, cementing The Witcher 3’s landscape as one of the most authentic-feeling open worlds I’ve ever seen. A handy minimap points you where you want to go, which might seem like a crutch, but honestly, without it, I’d have been hopelessly lost. That a world this size still feels so purposeful, and full of things to do is quite an achievement.

How ‘Thor’ Can Continue After Phase 3 Of Marvel Cinematic Universe

How ‘Thor’ Can Continue After Phase 3 Of Marvel Cinematic Universe

To be excited about superhero movies is to always wonder, what’s next? Even when Marvel Studios unveiled years worth of release dates and film titles in October, a series of movies forming what’s known as Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we had to ask how the franchise continues afterwards.

New characters are getting their own movies (Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Doctor Strange), familiar characters are getting sequels (Thor, Captain America, and the Guardians of the Galaxy), and there’s even one getting a reboot (Spider-Man). All of these stories are really just chapters in a larger long story, one that seems to culminate in Avengers: Infinity War. We don’t know much about what happens after this two-part movie event outside of Inhumans, because no other films have been announced, and most of the leading actors have contracts that expire by then.

For that reason, it’s becoming increasingly interesting to follow major events in Marvel Comics, a medium that seems to reshape itself to somewhat follow and somewhat setup events in the far-more-lucrative movie business. Last year alone, we met a new version of Iron Man, a mysterious female character becoming Thor, and another supporting character (Falcon) picking up the mantle (and shield) of Captain America to form a new Avengers team. It’d be crazy to think that beyond the obvious goal of boosting diversity in lead Marvel characters that some of these decisions aren’t laying groundwork for Marvel’s film division to have more options when it comes to continuing successful brands without the leading actors who started each series.

Check out my Brazilian booty! Kim Kardashian stuns in tight black dress in Sao Paulo

Check out my Brazilian booty! Kim Kardashian stuns in tight black dress in Sao Paulo after complaining she can't leave home without Spanx after 20lb weight gain

She has been working nonstop on her figure since giving birth to daughter North West nearly two years ago.

But on Sunday's episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian admitted she can't leave home without her Spanx because she has gained 20 pounds.

The 34-year-old reality star looked in good form, however, as she showed off a tiny waistline in a semi-sheer black dress at her Kim Kardashian West for C&A press conference in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Monday.

What Kim Kardashian doesn't know about black dresses just isn't worth knowing. So who better to look to for some LBD inspiration?

She's taking over Brazil to promote her new collection and of course she's modelling one of her own designs. C&A might have vanished from the UK high street, but it's still going strong in lots of other countries, and the reality TV star has chosen the store to launch her first solo collection under her married name, Kim Kardashian West.

Rihanna’s ‘American Oxygen’ Wasn’t About Eric Garner — But It Could Be

Rihanna’s ‘American Oxygen’ Wasn’t About Eric Garner — But It Could Be

I don’t know about you all, but the first time I heard and saw the video for Rihanna’s powerful R8 track, “American Oxygen,” the first thing that popped into my head was, “I can’t breathe.” You know, since the whole idea of “the land of the free and the home of the brave” has been a little dented of late.

It turns out, however, that the song wasn’t originally written about Eric Garner or any of the recent police-connected deaths that have spurred protests and riots. But that doesn’t make it any less relevant in those situations.

“[The song] was written before everything happened with Eric Garner,” X Ambassadors frontman Sam Harris told MTV News. Harris co-wrote the track, which premiered on Tidal. “[But] the fact that it was written before all this stuff happened doesn’t really make a difference to me. I think it’s just as important.”
