‘Supergirl’ Trailer The Woman Of Steel Has Arrived

‘Supergirl’ Trailer The Woman Of Steel Has Arrived

When The CW’s success with DC Comics triggered a rush of other comic properties being adapted to the small screen, few were as much of a surprise as Supergirl. Not only was the heroine’s connection to the Man of Steel seen as problematic, but finding its home at CBS – a network not known for hour-long dramas targeting The Flash or Arrow crowd – made the show’s tone, angle, and overall identity more than a mystery.

With the pilot episode now completed, CBS has made the full season order official, confirming that Supergirl is on her way, regardless of the details. The trailer impressed those present at its media upfronts debut, and now fans can have their first look at the show as well.

Since the first reports arrived of a Supergirl TV series being led by Greg Berlanti, executive producer of both Arrow and Flash, all involved have seemed to be turning a blind eye to the skeptics (not entirely unfounded skepticism, since the idea of doing a Super-character justice on a TV budget is a tall order). But rather than worry about whether a Supergirl TV show was possible, the producers set out to see for themselves.

‘Blindspot’ & ‘The Player’ Trailers Reveal NBC’S Action-Packed New LIneup

‘Blindspot’ & ‘The Player’ Trailers Reveal NBC’S Action-Packed New LIneup

Monday marks the start of upfront week in New York City, the time of the year when all the major broadcast networks (NBC, FOX, ABC, CBS and The CW) gather together to present their fall TV schedules to advertisers. This means that going into the week, most of the previous season’s shows will have already been renewed or cancelled (like NBC’s Constantine), paving the way for next season’s new crop of dramas and comedies.

NBC kicks off the event tomorrow at 11am eastern, and as such, they’ve already released their fall 2015 schedule, along with stills, artwork and trailers for their upcoming series. Fan-favorites Chicago Fire, Law & Order: SVU, Chicago P.D., The Blacklist and Grimm are staying put on their current air nights, but NBC will also premiere four new dramas this fall.

The first, Blindspot (above) – from executive producers Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl) and Sarah Schechter, writer Martin Gero, and director Mark Pellington – is getting the network’s coveted spot @10pm on Mondays after The Voice.

Netflix’S Next Marvel TV Series ‘A.K.A. Jessica Jones’ Gets New Synopsis

Netflix’S Next Marvel TV Series ‘A.K.A. Jessica Jones’ Gets New Synopsis

It’s been a busy week for Marvel Entertainment as its film division prepares for the second weekend of box office returns in North America for Avengers: Age of Ultron and production begins on Captain America: Civil War. On the television front, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. prepares for its series finale this week as ABC greenlights a third season (and a second season of Agent Carter).

All of this happens just weeks after the Marvel Cinematic Universe expanded to Netflix as well with Daredevil proving to be a top original hit for the digital network, so much so that a second season was quickly confirmed while another series A.K.A. Jessica Jones was in production for a release this fall. While the Jessica Jones series nears the end of its shoot, Marvel has held back on revealing details of the show outside of revealing its cast.

Adding to that and unofficial set photos from various New York locations (the Marvel-Netflix universe takes place in Hell’s Kitchen), we finally have a more detailed synopsis for the series. On the official Neflix app and website listing for A.K.A. Jessica Jones, it simply lists three cast members (Krysten Ritter, David Tennant, Rachael Taylor), a “coming 2015″ window of release, and the following logline:

Working as a private investigator in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen, a troubled ex-superhero’s past comes back to haunt her in the live-action series, “Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones.”

‘Game of Thrones' Breaking the Laws of Gods and Men

‘Game of Thrones' Breaking the Laws of Gods and Men

Faith is an interesting concept in the world of Game of Thrones. It is sometimes mentioned in loose terms by those discussing “the old gods and the new,” but the importance of having faith has really only been explored obliquely through characters like Melisandre, Stannis, Jaqen, and a handful of others. There’s certainly value in having faith in a religious sense – as Melisandre and Berric Dondarrion appear to have proven on more than one occasion – but what about those who have faith in another sense? What is the value in having faith in myths and legends, or, for the truly brave (and perhaps reckless), like Sansa or Ellaria and her Sand Snakes, future plans?

That seems to be the theme of ‘The Sons of the Harpy,’ which examines the idea of faith, from the fanatical to the guileless, by asking nearly every character to use faith in one way or another to their advantage. Jaime believes that his trip to Dorne with Bronn is the right thing to do for his niece. There’s an inflection in Jaime’s tone when he says the word “niece” that suggests he knows it’s hopeless for him to believe that Bronn is going to just let that one slide.

Bronn’s response is to repeat the word, but with a very pointed question mark tacked on to the end. Bronn’s inflection is more telling than someone simply buying into the gossip that Cersei’s three children are the product of an incestuous relationship; it implies that Jaime has been made considerably less dangerous after having his hand removed, and the Lannisters as a whole, especially in the wake of Tywin’s death, have lost a considerable amount of power. And with that loss of power comes the loss of any pretense of respect someone in Bronn’s position might grant a man like Jaime.

‘Game of Thrones’ Season 5: Meet the New Players

‘Game of Thrones’ Season 5: Meet the New Players

Game of Thrones has indisputably the largest ensemble on television, with a cast of over 20 main players and dozens of recurring and guest actors. The show does manage to kill off major characters rather frequently – almost always to the shock and horror of the audience – but each new season adds more new faces than it loses.

For season 5 of Game of Thrones, there will be more new characters joining the cast than ever before. In part, this is due to showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss having killed a good number of the main cast in only four seasons, but also because the geography in Game of Thrones will expand and grow more even more.

In an effort to help make sense of the series’ ever-growing roster, we have compiled a guide to the new characters that we know are joining HBO’s Game of Thrones in season 5.

‘Orange is the New Black’ Renewed For Season 4; New Season 3 Clip Unveiled

‘Orange is the New Black’ Renewed For Season 4; New Season 3 Clip Unveiled

Netflix’s smash hit original series Orange is the New Black (from Weeds creator Jenji Kohan) has been an absolute titan in original programming for the past few years. The series has been a juggernaut in awards shows every year, occasionally even grabbing nominations and wins from heavy-hitters like Game of Thrones or its Netflix companion, House of Cards. Considering audiences’ anticipation going into this summer’s third season too – it doesn’t look like Orange is the New Black will be slowing down any time soon.

The first trailer for season three was revealed just a few days ago to positive reactions from fans – and this season looks like it could be changing things up a little bit from the tone it established in the first two seasons. Besides the exclusion of Jason Biggs this season and addition of Ruby Rose as Stella, the first trailer promises even more craziness and drama this season as well as a change in direction for some of the series’ key storylines. Not to mention some more dry wisdom from Red, which is something fans can never get enough of.

Well, Netflix has announced today that they will already be renewing the series for a fourth season – months ahead of its season three debut. In addition to the announcement, Netflix has also debuted a new clip from the third season. The clip gives a small tease into the darkness and tension that will likely play a large role in the interactions between some of the characters – something the original trailer didn’t go too far into. One thing’s for sure, Litchfield definitely isn’t going to be as shiny and clean as its walls this season.
